Keeping My Hands Busy

creativity BLOCKED! just keeping my hands busy with some teenage mutant ninja turtles intravenous action. the original idea was to have the contents be petroleum but that was too cliché........

TYPETYPETYPETYPE

been working on what would be a complete display typeface if i had the time/knowledge to finish it all. i saw something similar to this on an advertisement a month ago and replicated it to suit my memory at first, then did some fine tuning so the set felt more cohesive.

Lucha Libre

so this could be a logo for a team of texan luchadores. the mask is self explanatory. the snake is a coral snake, which, among other places, resides in Texas and is highly lethal.

small drawings

went home to MA for the weekend and did a lot of drawing on the bus and stuff. here is some of it.

Business Card for the lovely Jessica Keefe

complete

playing with the atmosphere and adjusting some background compositional troubles did it

in progress

so i heard about the 300 tigers that were lost in India this past week and i started this here

aaand you're sure you want it in the shot?

so i read a story last week about this girl that inadvertently flashed her lady parts all over her high school year book. i guess wearing underwear to picture day at school isn't something most of of us have to think about. what made it worse is that her mother went on national television to talk about it. awesome.

logomotion

this is my favorite logo sketch for a Massachusetts based theatre production company's apprenticeship program. it will be printed on the polos the apprentices wear during shows and rehearsals.

MMNY

so here's my submission for a poster contest to design the Make Music New York 2009 official poster that will be part of a 50,000 copy distribution. sweet. wish me luck guys!

I'm going back - back, to cali - graphy

painted on my apt door while listening to classical music today. art is fun. see.

Subway Drawing

Spent some extended time on the subway last week and drew this. Which has seen some enlargement and will look mighty fine on a structure of some sort. I haven't drawn something this metal in a long time.

cool kid wallpaper

ok, so if i had wallpaper i would want it to look something like this

eddie 8ball

if i knew a guy named Eddie 8-Ball he would have this tattooed on either of his slightly hairy shoulders.

a-fraud?

aaaand here's what i came up with

here's a quick color study for a piece about yankees slugger A-fraud's current dethroning . he's definitely dead to a lot of fans.

New Art

Here's the mostly complete image for the justin timberlake article.

sketches

i'm working on art for a cool article for a friend's upcoming web magazine. the story's about how justin timberlake's album took the electronic hip hop scene to the next level as well as helped to launch timberland's producing career. here's the sketch i'm hoping to finish up in a few days.
