sort of on hiatus while i get things sorted. currently on the bus to new york from boston - i designed this pattern as a color experiment (i'm color blind so i rarely spend time on color) and i think it would look great on dinner plates. maybe some blue duotone versions later to play on the blues on "fine" china.

been working on what would be a complete display typeface if i had the time/knowledge to finish it all. i saw something similar to this on an advertisement a month ago and replicated it to suit my memory at first, then did some fine tuning so the set felt more cohesive.

Lucha Libre

so this could be a logo for a team of texan luchadores. the mask is self explanatory. the snake is a coral snake, which, among other places, resides in Texas and is highly lethal.

so i read a story last week about this girl that inadvertently flashed her lady parts all over her high school year book. i guess wearing underwear to picture day at school isn't something most of of us have to think about. what made it worse is that her mother went on national television to talk about it. awesome.

this is my favorite logo sketch for a Massachusetts based theatre production company's apprenticeship program. it will be printed on the polos the apprentices wear during shows and rehearsals.

Spent some extended time on the subway last week and drew this. Which has seen some enlargement and will look mighty fine on a structure of some sort. I haven't drawn something this metal in a long time.

as i prepare to move into a new apartment i've been thinking a lot about the gentrification of brooklyn and the similarities to the occupation and dissection of Africa by European powers in the late 19th century. what's happening now kind of seems like a diluted version of this, sort of a cold war...
